Every energy system sits on top of an electrical installation, and inherits its weaknesses. Undersized cable costs yield. Poor earthing costs equipment and, occasionally, more than that. Protection that was specified once and never revisited stops matching the load it now carries. This is the part of a project we are least willing to compromise on.

  • Distribution and changeover

    Boards, breakers and changeover arrangements sized and coordinated for the load they actually carry today.

  • Protection and isolation

    DC and AC protection, surge protection and clearly labelled isolation points for anyone who has to work on the system later.

  • Earthing and bonding

    Earthing designed and tested rather than assumed — the single most common defect we find on systems installed by others.

  • Cable sizing and management

    Conductors sized for current, distance and temperature, routed and secured so they are still serviceable in year ten.

  • Power quality

    Investigating voltage, harmonics and power factor where equipment is misbehaving and nobody can say why.

  • Testing and documentation

    Measured results, recorded and handed over, so the next person to open the panel knows what they are looking at.

These are the questions we work through with you. They are also the questions worth putting to anyone else you are speaking to.

  • Earthing is the safety system you cannot see

    It only matters on the day something goes wrong, which is exactly why it is the easiest thing to skimp on. We test it and give you the reading.

  • Cable sizing is an efficiency decision as well as a safety one

    Undersized conductors lose energy as heat for the entire life of the installation. The saving on copper is paid back to the supplier, with interest, in yield.

  • Labelling is part of the work

    An unlabelled board is a hazard for the next electrician and a delay for you. Every isolation point we install is labelled and recorded.

Questions we get asked.

Can you work on an installation somebody else built?

Yes. We assess what is there, tell you plainly what we find, and quote for what needs correcting. We will not take responsibility for work we have not inspected, and we will say so if an existing installation needs more than a repair.

What is the most common problem you find?

Earthing that was never tested, and DC protection that was never specified. Both are invisible until they matter.
